The Cassini CS-102 is mounted on Cassini's Super Glide Altitude Azimuth mount. It's easy use up and down, left and right movement is great for beginners and casual star gazers alike. It also makes terrestrial viewing easy when an erecting lens is used. The Super Glide mount features slow motion controls in both axis for precision adjustments. The Mount is attached to a very sturdy, fully adjustable, pre-assembled metal tripod with retractable rubber feet. The tripod also features an accessory tray with slots to place 4 1¼″ eyepieces or lenses. The optical tube assembly attaches to the mount by an adjustable tube clamp which in combination with the adjustable counter balance weights ensures easy fluid movement of the telescope at all times. The telescope tube features heavy duty metal primary and secondary mirror cells. The Cassini CS-102 optical tube assembly features a catadioptric design providing an 1100mm focal length (catadioptric correcting lens is fully multi-coated). The Primary mirror is a 102mm heavy duty mirror cell with push / pull collimation screws. Included with the CS-1202 is a 1¼″ 6mm Eyepiece, and a 1¼″ 20mm eyepiece. You also get the Cassini 1¼″ 1.5x Erecting Eyepiece. It enables you to enjoy a right-side-up image when using your telescope terrestrially. Lastly, the Cassini Planetarium CD ROM brings skies over your home or anywhere in the world into your computer.
